Update on That Regal

Sorry I didn’t respond to anyone on the last post, was out looking at car. Car turned out to suck. Rockers were shot (looked good under plastic but it doesn’t fool me), and the interior was trashed. That being said, it drove MINT. Seriously, this thing drove like it was new. And it has more power than at half throttle than my Taurus does at full throttle. Powertrain-wise, it was everything I wanted. However, the body was worse than my Taurus, so I kind of feel stupid trading for a car that is, for the most part, in worse shape than my car. So, the search continues :(

Ouch. Test drove a Ninety-Eight just like that. Mechanically mint, drove like a cloud (and had the same top speed). But the lights were cracked, the headliner was sagging, and it was all around pretty dumpy. Sucks stuff like that rarely works out.

Yeah, I gotcha. I just get hyped sometimes, since I rarely ever like a car enough to go look at it. However, it did tell me that, as I thought, I like the way it drives.

Yeah. Either looking for a truck or a Regal GS. That’s it. Just kind of so happened that I found two that were supposedly really nice a week apart.

“Truck” is very generic, but “Regal GS” is rather specific. Sounds like that test drive really turned you on to ’em. Can’t blame you. I drove my brother’s one a couple of times, and I think I liked it more than he did. To him, it was just “a car”.

“Truck” as in a ‘88-up Chevy/GMC 1500 4x4, preferably Z71, and either a 5.7 TBI, a 5.7 Vortec, or a 5.3 Vortec.

As for the Regal, I’ve been into ‘em for a while. We bought a ‘02 Regal LS brand new off the showroom floor, and we sold it with like 290k on the clock. That car was a piece of my childhood. I figured, if I liked it that much with the N/A 3800, then I’ll like it even more with a supercharger! The test drive confirmed that thought. So, reliable, cool, nostalgic, quick, comfortable...... What’s not to love?

Totally agree. It’s awesome that you have such familiarity with it!

I’ll keep an eye out just in case I stumble across something. As for the truck, do you have a cab or bed preference?

Hey, thanks! Always nice to have another pair of eyes. Truck-wise, I love single cab/short bed trucks. However, those are tough to find. So pretty much ext. Cabs (no crew cabs) are cool as well.
